New Year Resolutions

We have spent allot of time recently planning for 2015 and thought it appropriate to pass on some thoughts on 2015 and New Year’s Resolution’s.  In the end in the US only 1 in 2.2 make a New Year’s resolution. Of these, 1 in 8 or 17.8 million will keep it for a year, however don’t lose any hope as those that make a New Year’s resolution are 10 times more likely to change their lives than those who don’t.  Will you make positive changes to your life this year?

According to a study by the University of Scranton, the top 10 New Year’s resolutions for 2014 were (and it looks like 2015 trending is very similar).

1. Lose Weight
2. Getting Organized
3. Spend Less, Save More
4. Enjoy Life to the Fullest
5. Staying Fit and Healthy
6. Learn Something Exciting
7. Quit Smoking
8. Help Others in Achieving their Dream
9. Fall in Love
10. Spend More Time with Family

Our journey  with Life Shotz has enabled us to exceed our 2014 goals in many of these areas and we are excited about the coming year.  For this newsletter we will focus on some of our thoughts/updates on a few of our 2014 Resolutions with more to come in future newsletters:

Losing weight is the most popular New Year’s resolution, however over 90% of dieters gain back all their weight within one to five years.  One third of dieters actually gain weight and only about 8% of people are able to make their resolutions stick.  There IS an easier way that’s not about dieting and here’s the kicker….it actually works and is one of the reasons we love Life Shotz and LS Vibe so much…more about that later…

We are healthier than we have been in many years and have a plan in place for 2015 to be even more so.  Regretfully less than half of American’s are willing to do much to achieve it, especially as we get older. In the US, 1 in 1.7 adults 18-24 get the recommended amount of exercise a week and the odds drop as people get older, to 1 in 1.9 of those 25 to 34, 1 in 2 for those 35 to 64 and 1 in 2.5 for those 65 and older.  Jeff has a family history of high cholesterol and the changes he has made with diet, daily Life Shotz/LS Vibe  and exercise have brought it down into the normal range (Doctor wanted Jeff to take prescription medication).   From a tennis perspective Jeff also has his highest Super Senior rankings in 2014 on both a state and national level (#2 in Texas and #14 Nationally).  It was his last year in his current age division which makes it even more remarkable. Jeff has a routine when competing that incorporates both Life Shotz and LS Vibe and would be glad to share.

The weather outside is frightful – and so are those extra pounds you packed on over the holidays! From gallons of eggnog to tubs of tasty cookies, the sweets were certainly hard to resist.  Not one to play favorites, you also gave your fair share of attention to salty, fried foods and creamy, fat-laden dips.

If you’re feeling down – and a little too full – from all your favorite gorging, you’re not alone.
